There are 6.5-million children in South Africa, only one million of those attend Early Childhood Development (ECD) facilities. Forty five percent of these facilities are not conducive to learning, 2 500 schools do not have access to water, proper sanitation or electricity. Breadline Africa’s upgrade to the Lukhanyiso Educare centre in Old Crossroads, Philippi, Cape Town, includes two classrooms, one kitchen and one toilet unit.
