With the number of Covid-19 infections on the rise, many women are reluctant to visit hair and beauty salons, opting to take matters into their own hands and do their hair at home. From socially distanced family picnics to video calls with friends and loved ones, the festive season is going to look a little different this year.
“There are ways to look and feel good during the holidays, while still being safe and curbing the spread of the virus,” says Maureen Sibanda, Community Manager at hair-network marketing company, Wukina. “After a difficult year, there’s even more reason to spend time on selfcare, trying a new look or investing in a makeover, while ensuring that you remain Covid-19-free.”
From taking a little extra time to care for their natural hair to sporting a curly wig, women are getting creative in order to maintain their festive season glam. “During lockdown, women were forced to revise their self care routines and got used to doing their own hair. Our Wukina women saw a gap in the market and helped others in their community access premium quality wigs, without risking their wellbeing,” says Sibanda.
